The former Liverpool manager admits rejoining to manage Liverpool is theoretically possible.

Jurgen Klopp, who left Liverpool in 2024, indicated that rejoining the club is a possibility. The 58-year-old, post a game-changing nine-season tenure that included Champions League success and the Premier League crown for three decades, currently occupies roles in a global football capacity for Red Bull and in an advisory capacity to Germany's league body.

Supporters’ Hopes and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

They secured England's top flight in the previous campaign, though countless followers who revere Klopp would be thrilled by the possibility that he may eventually return. During an extensive chat, he told the podcast host: “I declared I refuse to lead any other side on English soil. So that means should it be the Reds...yes. Theoretically it’s possible.”

“I’m 58, that means I might decide later on, I don’t know. Do I have to make the decision today? If so, I wouldn't return. Luckily, no such pressure exists. I'll simply watch what lies ahead.”

Conditions for a Comeback

Pressed on what circumstances would have to unfold to bring him back to the touchline, he confessed he isn't eager toward coming back. “I don’t even know exactly, I enjoy my current role,” he commented. “I don’t miss coaching; No desire to be in the rain for two-and-a-half or three hours; No need for media briefings multiple times weekly or having 10-12 interviews each week.

“No nostalgia for the changing area in that context, however, dining out with the team having a nice chat, that’s nice. With many victories so there was often a very good mood at the club. Remaining with me is Virgil [Van Dijk’s] laugh ringing in my ears for example.”

Commending Arne Slot

He spoke highly of the current boss, acknowledging his role for the tweaks which secured the championship in the previous season. They've been defeated a string of losses in all competitions following significant transfers, but he rubbished the suggestion that it might signal a slump.

“[Liverpool have] an incredible striker like Florian Wirtz, doubters will be silenced if you use the wrong words. An outstanding player. Ekitike, incredible player. This is a well-built thoughtfully assembled roster. Fans shouldn't fret regarding the Reds, things will improve.”

Heartfelt Words for the Late Forward

The manager expressed deep feeling on the loss of Diogo Jota, a player he signed during his tenure, and its impact at the club. The Portugal international died tragically in a vehicle collision with his brother this past summer.

“How do you replace somebody like Diogo? It’s not about his footballing ability, his personality mattered. I can’t imagine the team environment missing him. Putting it into words is tough about it. It was an incredible shock for the entire squad also. Not a single person might employ it as an excuse yet it's the reality. Entering the changing area which he filled completely. Handling this on a personal level is difficult. Impossible.”
