It's a challenge for Australia to set fresh records.

The highest peaks have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, the ones sought by the record chasers, are all that remain for a squad that has won it all.

It needed until Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, regaining their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the pitchers that have represented Australia over the past 50 years.

It's difficult for their batters to possess a record if not afforded the opportunity.

Finally, the consequence of Australia giving up 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy being given a chance to create her most recent brilliance.

A single was taken off Gaud's first delivery and from that point the right-hander was on her way.

"An opportunity to play and engage in competition with her and merely enjoy the moment in that regard, somewhat inspired me," said Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at the World Cup - and her century in 84 deliveries while she punished short deliveries, hitting 21 fours and three sixes.

By the time she was removed her side needed 66 more at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the confidence to accomplish that now," continued Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, if necessary, we believe we can achieve it."

These statements will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this World Cup should hear.

In recent days a sense they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this triumph following win against Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.
