Devoted fans of Ariana Grande are urging that a man who leaped a barrier and seized the celebrity during the recent Wicked: For Good debut be detained or expelled from Singapore.

A widely shared clip shows the individual from Australia bypassing photographers and lunging at Grande while the performers proceeded down a yellow carpet accompanied by supporters.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo quickly pulled the stunned actress away from Mr Wen, who was seen being removed of the premiere by guards.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram recently that he was "released after being detained", though legal records indicated that he was scheduled to appear on the following morning. It is not clear if he was charged.

History of Incidents

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Notorious Troublemaker", has invaded a celebrity gathering. His Instagram feed contains videos of him disturbing other celebrity events, including rushing the platform at Katy Perry's Sydney concert in June this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers concert in the city last December.

"Measures must be taken enforced against him as this is clearly a legal violation," wrote an Instagram follower, in a message to a video Mr Wen shared of his act.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" another Instagram user wrote.

Followers Voice Worry Over Ariana's Safety

Many supporters blamed Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had revealed suffering from PTSD after a terrorist explosion at the finale of her spring 2017 performance in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and harming hundreds.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" wrote another comment on Instagram.

Some fans also faulted guards at the gathering for not being adequately prepared; while some called for digital services to block Mr Wen's videos.

Reaction and Event Details

In clips shared widely, Grande looked surprised when she was grabbed by the individual. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen comforting her while Mr Wen was led out by security.

Grande has remained silent on the situation, and the premiere activities continued without further issues.

Many of attendees had assembled in a mass of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good regional launch in a Singapore mall, including a number who had queued for as long as many hours before it commenced.

The film, to be released on 21 November, is the sequel of a dual interpretation of the well-known Broadway and West End show Wicked, which focuses on the surprising friendship between two very different characters.

The show itself is a adaptation of the twentieth-century children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the character Glinda Glinda, was decked out in a rosé sparkling outfit at the premiere while Erivo, who portrays the wicked witch, wore a black tube gown featuring roses.

They were accompanied by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the highest-grossing movie of the previous year in the UK, and earned a dozen award recognitions, securing several for outstanding attire and production design.
